چکیده

The GOCE (Gravity eld and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer) satellite gravity gradiometry mission maps the Earth’s gravity eld. Harmonic analysis of GOCE observations provides a global gravity eldmodel (GGFM). Three theoretical strategies, namely the direct, the space-wise and the time-wise approach, have been proposed for GOCE harmonic analysis. Based on these threemethods, several GGFMs have been provided to the user community by ESA. Thereby different releases are derived from different periods of GOCE observations and some of themodels are based on combinations with other sources of gravity eld information. Due to themultitude of GOCE GGFMs, validation against independent data is a crucial task for the quality description of the different models. In this study, GOCE GGFMs from three releases are validated with respect to terrestrial free-air gravity anomalies in Norway. The spectral enhancement method is applied to avoid spectral inconsistency between the terrestrial and the GOCE free-air gravity anomalies. The results indicate that the time-wise approach is a reliable harmonic analysis procedure in all three releases of GOCEmodels. The spacewise approach, available in two releases, provides similar results as the time-wise approach. The direct approach seems to be highly affected by a-priori information.

An evaluation of recent GOCE geopotential models in Brazil

Several global geopotential models based on Gravity eld and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer (GOCE) data have been published in the last two years. Some of these models use combinations of different satellite missions, while others use only GOCE data. This paper presents the evaluation and analysis of each approach using GOCE data in the Southeast of Brazil. Two assessments have beenmade...

Global Gravity Field Determination by Combining Goce and Complementary Data

GOCE gravity fields define a new standard concerning spectral resolution of satellite-only models, and provide a very high precision in the longand medium wavelength part of the gravity field up to a spherical harmonic degree of about 250. Combining GOCE with GRACE data, which gives in addition very accurate information for the long wavelength part, results in the current performance status of ...

Validation of GOCE global gravitational field models in Norway

Numerous global gravitational field models have been derived from the GOCE satellite gravitational gradiometry mission. They differ by the harmonic analysis approach and the time span covered by the measurements. The quality of individual solutions is assessed by validating the global gravitational field models with respect to independent datasets. Global gravitational field models based on the...

Height uni cation using GOCE

With the gravity eld and steady-state ocean circulation explorer (GOCE) (preferably combined with the gravity eld and climate experiment (GRACE)) a new generation of geoid models will become available for use in height determination. These models will be globally consistent, accurate (<3 cm) and with a spatial resolution up to degree and order 200, when expressed in terms of a spherical harmoni...

Evaluation of the first GOCE static gravity field models using terrestrial gravity, vertical deflections and EGM2008 quasigeoid heights

Recently, four global geopotential models (GGMs) were computed and released based on the first two months of data collected by the GOCE (Gravity field and steady-state Ocean Circulation Explorer) dedicated satellite gravity field mission. Given that GOCE is a technologically complex mission and different processing strategies were applied to real space-collected GOCE data for the first time, ev...
